Friday Think/g: A Painting Is Worth A Thousand Words
Hi, all.
Hope you had a good week.
Welcome to Friday Thing/k – a brand storytelling canvas where I’d like to share with you smart, creative, inspiring, engaging, cool, and innovative content marketing ideas that take my digital marketing breath away once a week.
“If I had more time, I would have written a shorter letter,” is a famous quote by Mark Twain.
Or was it Blaise Pascal, John Locke, Benjamin Franklin, Henry David Thoreau, Cicero, or Woodrow Wilson?
Thanks, Google, for sorting it out for me.
That line is also one I hear often from my boss, Ayal Steiner, whenever he reviews my writing.
So, this post will be the shortest of them all! Not because I had more time but because of another immortal phrase: A picture is worth a thousand words.
Or maybe one: WOW.
Let me share with you ‘The Next Rembrandt,’ the result of an 18-month project that involved data scientists, developers, engineers, and art historians from organisations including Microsoft, Delft University of Technology, Mauritshuis in The Hague and the Rembrandt House Museum in Amsterdam.
A line in the film (1:01 minute mark) summarises the project brilliantly:
“We used technology and data like Rembrandt used his paints and his brushes.”
Sponsored by ING, created by JWT, and inspired by Rembrandt.
One more time: WOW.
On the topic of paintings, watch these closely:
Now, closer.
Zoom in and zoom out.
Can you tell their story?
With that, if you have 7 more minutes, check out Alexa Meade’s TED story because, too many words.
That’s it for this week.
See you next Friday.
As always, feedback is more than welcome, and needed so please leave comments below. Additionally, if you have anything/k in mind, I would love to discover it.
Just call me Joe.
