Outbrain’s Pricing Model
Outbrain runs on a Cost-Per-Click, or CPC, pricing model. You will be charged for the number of clicks each campaign receives based on the CPC you set.
For example, if you set the campaign budget to $20 and the CPC to $0.03, you will pay $0.03 for every click until you hit your $20 budget cap. At any time, the CPC can be changed in your campaign settings depending on how well the campaign performs.
Once the budget has capped, your content will no longer be distributed to our network of publisher sites. However, a reader can still click on content that was served prior to the budget being fulfilled. As a result, you may be charged up to 20% more than your budget for clicks delivered during this time.
Please also note that if you manually pause your campaign, a reader can still click on content that was served prior to the campaign being paused. As a result, you may be charged for these clicks even after the campaign stops running.
Outbrain’s Billing Cycle
As your campaign spends, we will charge your account based on the actual spend that was accrued (at round amounts). For example, if your campaign spends $230 within a few minutes, you will be charged for $200 right away. If the charge succeeds, you will be able to keep spending; in the case where the charge fails, we will immediately disable your account.
You can check your account’s current balance, view previous invoices from the last 12 months, and more by clicking the Payments tab in the left-hand sidebar of your dashboard.
Receipts for the threshold charges can also be located in the Payments tab of the Dashboard. Below the Contact and Payment information sections there will be two tabs: Invoices and Payments.
The Invoices tab is where you can view and download your monthly invoices. The Payments tab is where you can view and download receipts of your previous payments from the last 4 months.
Please note that Outbrain charges all accounts that pay Credit Card a processing fee of 3% that will be charged on top of the actual media spend.
